Site redesign

If you've visited us before you may notice that we have re-designed the site, changing completely the underlying code.

We have moved away from the use of tables and images to make the site accessible and compliant with contemporary w3c standards for xhtml and css.

This is something we have been doing for clients for quite some time, it's just taken a while to get around to working on our own site.

For reference we've archived the previous design here.

Deepend Training

Our sister company DeepEnd Training, launched last year to provide training for publishing and information industries, goes from strength to strength.

'…Their understanding of our needs and culture coupled with a training formula that really works has resulted in their courses being in high demand throughout the organisation…'

Path were selected to help Johnson Matthey transition a traditional print journal online and augment it with a host of extra features to engage the user community.

The site is content maintained by non-web technical editorial Johnson Matthey staffers using a web interface tailored to the sites requirements. The administration area allows for editing of all content and the addition of complete issues and articles in XML and PDF formats.

Path were unfailingly helpful and forthcoming with a range of technical information and knowledge that covered all aspects of all the decisions we had to be aware of.

Path provided us with solutions to cover many of the activities we wanted on our website.

They had answers and suggestions to all the problems we threw at them.

I was impressed by the cleverness of the design and its organisation. The functionality is quite straightforward and we can alter/amend/adapt the site, as well as asking Path to help.

Also Path provide ideas!

The Shipman Inquiry

Path were commissioned to provide production consultancy and management of the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th Shipman Inquiry Reports for the Department of Health.

This project involved close working with legal counsel and the Department of Health to a very tight schedule whilst maintaining high degrees of accuracy, financial accountability and of course confidentiality.

The report has been published in print (plus a Welsh translation), online and CD-ROM with simultaneous distribution throughout the UK.

Path's work for us has been of a consistently high standard. The Inquiry works to very tight deadlines and Path ensured that the project stayed on track by agreeing with the Inquiry the actions to be taken with contractors. They have been adept at keeping the Inquiry updated with progress and of ensuring the Inquiry's needs were made clear to contractors. At all times Path has sought and gained accountability and value for money from contractors, which is of great importance to a publicly funded organisation.

Path's attention to detail, ability to keep work on track and flexible approach to our needs has been a boon to the Inquiry. They have no qualms about committing themselves fully to very high standards.
